Question

Hi All,

I have a 1997 Impreza Turbo Catalunya with 60K miles on the clock.
However I have notice that I have 2 spots of rust bubbles on my roof at the rear window just where the rubber strip joins the roof.
Do you know if I stand a chance of this 6-year anti-corrosion thingy ?? The rust bubbles have not been stoned chipped !!
What do you think ?? Anyone had the same problems ??

Cheers

Gary.

You definately do but ONLY if your body services are fully completed and have never missed one.

Probably worth a try anyway - it can only get worse.

Hello

I bought the car from a main dealer 13months ago and is just out of extended warranty. I've looked at the body service documents and looks like the previous owners didn't bother with the body servicing. So I probably don't have a leg to stand on ????

Cheers

Red face

I'd take it back and see what the dealer says, just due to the fact that they sold you a car without a full warranty should give you some leverage as the extended warranty is mechanical only....

I would be interested to find out what happens here, as my local dealer tried to tell me that the roof wasn't covered under the body warranty!

I've exactly the same problem on my MY97T only near the front windscreen. I tried to claim for repairs on the corrosion warranty thru my local dealer and Subaru said F'koff cos the original owner didn't have the first 3-month (I think) corrosion check stamped in the log book. The dealer, who sold me the car 18 months ago (Chandlers Subaru and Farm Equipment, Grantham) wasn't interested in making a good-will gesture either.

Thumbs down

Normally happens after a window fitter has replaced a screen because the screens are bonded in they need to lever the glass out and paint gets chipped and few months later rust bubbles appear.
