Question

Was talking to a friend in Hong Kong earlier who said on Gran Tourismo 3, the tuning ability of cars is 100% realistic, and thus the Imprezas/Sti's only go up to 380bhp (rather than the 500/600bhp on GT2) and the WRC version IS only 300bhp - thus they are seldom the cars of choice

and off-topic...

GT3 is out in 13 days so the time is ripe for investing in a PS2 console (purely so we have a DVD player in the bedroom ) What is the cheapest they can be had for? I have found a couple of website with them at 264.99 - anyone found cheaper?

To keep replys in the correct forum (and so as not to incur the wrath from fellow moderators ) feel free to respond to the console Q at

I'd imagine they're pre-order cases on the shelves.

As said above - they will be pre-order cases. Just been to the Trafford Centre and most of the stores have the same thing. Game isn't out until July 20th. Demo on screen does look 'film-quality' awesome though

I read somewhere that the US version is a lot 'easier' due to the Amercian lower boredom threshold with Video games??

Does anyone know if my old PS one would work in Brazil!!
They have a power coverter so they can use it with the 13 amp plug, I'm wondering whether it will have any conflicts with the TV??
Anyone any ideas??

TV signal won't work at all. They use NTSC, we use PAL/I. You can get NTSC to work (in black and white) on a pal tv, but not the other way round.

Sorry slippy, but Brazil actually uses PAL M, which is the same video standard but uses a different audio carrier for broadcast. I think that if you connect using a scart and not using the RF connection then you should be ok in Brazil.
