0-60 timings / BHP output
#1
I borrowed a work colleague's Race Tech unit the other day. Having read the manual and configured it as close to perfect as possible, I decided to take the car to a nice stretch of road for a little test or two.
I've got a _standard_ Jap MY95 WRX saloon, with just under half a tank of Esso SUL present during the tests.
0-60 came in 5.2 seconds
Max BHP output was 257 at 59.1mph
I just wondered if anyone else is getting such good figures? If I'm getting these on a standard car, what are you guys and gals getting!?
PS:- Race Tech info can be found at

Ferrari F40 is 3.7 according to EVO mag. And that will be limited by traction a lot more than the scoobys. Once above 30 or 40 it will have a bigger advantage (IIRC 0-125 in 12 secs). 480BHP - 1100Kgs. You'd need 500BHP+ in a scoob to beat that
However, can't dispute that 0-60 in 4.5 seconds is still very quick.
Phil
Edit - Had put the Ferrari at 110kgs. That really would be impressive

I can tell you now, there is no f**king way anybody is doing 0-60 tests in my car, after I have just spent nearly £1k on the clutch!

paulflowe,
Your figures look like some I have seen published in a magazine... (0-60 5 secs for WRX) and you cars PS output should be 260, which I think equates to about 256 BHP. Seems like the on paper figures are quite accurate.
Never timed mine, but I'd swear blind it can reach 60 in less than 5 secs, although it has some reasonable performance mods.

My 94 wrx 260bhp model was rolling roaded at 265bhp and 260lft with an induction kit and a decated exhaust. In the Banzai magazine test it achieved a 0-60 time of 4.88 secs and needed changing into third at about 54mph to get to 60. I believe this is about as quick as you could get with this power / model Impreza. I have since carried out a few more mods so it is hopefully more powerful and quicker.
Andy a few more mods and I will be chasing you ( in my dreams ).
