First drive of a Scoob !
#1
Had my first go of a Scoob today, my uncle turned up in a 98 Terzo and let me have a go, been going on about getting one for five years and only got my first go today !
Well, I enjoyed it, plus points I would say
The sound (this had a Supersprint on it, sounded wicked)
Looked good
Good visibility
Superb controls, felt alive, steering, brakes and to a lesser extent the gearchange
Cornering, i didnt go mental but I can see what all the fuss is about
Felt solid and fairly well built, not BMW type of well built but solid where it counts
I expected it to be quicker than it was, I run a T5 Volvo and once rolling it didnt seem any quicker than that, I am not comparing them on any other count apart from roll on acceleration from 30-90
Basically the Scoob wouldnt leave the Volvo, of that I am convinced. On every other aspect of driving, Scoob every time.
I think I will bypass standard UK turbos and go for something a little spicier, my dad is now leaning towards Scoob ownership as well.

A T5 will be as fast as a UK scoob once rolling. I did look briefly at getting one before my last Impreza. The tire wear, torque steer and traction in the wet put me off. However as an estate car its about as steathly as you get(unless you get the R version). The biggest upside buy a white one and pretend to be a traffic cop.
As a motorway crusier the T5 is a great car, not sure it would as fun on a wet a road.

I was hoping that the Scoob would blitz it, I have been waiting for a go of a Scoob for ages so have hyped it a bit.
Still want one but it will have to be modded or a import.
I know what you mean about the Volvo, its only fun in a straight line in the dry, not a drivers car at all but I must say that the way a Scoob drives is sublime.

I'm not surprised to be honest. The Volvo has something like 240Bhp and FWD. UK Impreza is 208/215 with a big drivetrain loss because of the 4WD.
Have a look at http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm for more info.

I know how you feel mark - when you follow scoobs so religously you kind of expect them to go like the Enterprise the first time you drive one. Mines is still fairly standard but it's certainly fast enough to keep me amused until the mods arrive. I'm confident a sorted UK scooby would leave you more impressed and the Volvo struggeling...even in a straight line 20-100.

Saxo Boy, Dont get me wrong, I was impressed !
But it was different to how I had imagined it, some cars just feel right and the Scoob seems to be one of them.
Now wheres that loan application........
