Dudes,
I've had her for 4 Months, done 8,000 miles, bin scared silly, grinned inanely, worried like a paedafile in a playground, and love owning her.
I often read threads, slating the scoob for being expensive, thief magnets, fuel guzzling etc, etc.
Salsa King showed me the way back in March, he said ..(Que music by orchestra and arm around the shoulders) MIKEY, it's only a car, you can loose sleep about it, you can bitch about it or you can leave it in a garage and get it out at weekends..OR..You can GET OUT IN IT and ENJOY it"
I did the latter and it worked for me. In fact when I discover another little squeak, it makes me smile.
Is it just me?
MIKEY

Best car in the world innit?
Had mine over 2 years from new, still look back and admire when I park. Every morning trip to the office is a joy. Not a scratch on HIM (how can he be female?), cared for like a best friend. 40,000 miles and still feels like a new car.
WOW!

Well said, Mikey
I love my motah and look foward to buying it presents every pay day.
But I'm beginning to enter PTMW territory now - hiding the mods from the missus. The track day roll cage isn't going to be easy.
Any creative ideas welcome
Richard.

I drove her through Nottingham this morning at 01:00am on me way back from Hayleys house, no traffic, tall buildings for the sound to bounce off, street lighting and Massive shop windows to pose to myself in
Sad I know but............

I love my Scooby so much, it hurts!!
Wife loves it, and so does my four daughters. All my mates want one, even my neighbors think it lovely. Thinking about selling my wife's Maverik and buying her one!!
I am currently getting 31.5 mpg on the motorway with air con. on, which isn't too bad at all. Had a Galaxy before that was much worse on fuel, took ages to get to a reasonable speed and the chicks weren't that impressed
Looking into a LPG conversion for the motorway driving though.
Cheers Phill C

Cracking post
Have to agree, love the car, had it since 10th March this year, its a DGM UK Turbo 4 door and I smile every time I look at it and smile even wider every time I drive it
That missus loves it (she calls it "our" baby ) and positively encouraged me to get it - hence enjoys coming to club meets and trips etc
All my mates love it, the boss is jealous - it just don't get better
Mods so far are Magnex backbox and clear indicators/repeaters and Autostyle Car Mats , but there will be more

Yeah! 18 months of ownership and the obsession just keeps growing.
Having an SS downpipe fitted by my dealer as we speak, pick the car up at 16:30, can't wait!

Had mine since beginning of April (Silver MY01 WRX), every time I floor the beast I get an inane grin on my face (just can't stop myself). Never driven anything like it before, the baby handles so well.

For every miffed owner, there must be 50 "Grinning like loonies " owners.
Keep the reasons why coming people, makes me feel good

I have had my MY01 for 4 months now.
It's true it does drink a lot of petrol..... Basically because I can't stop driving the thing. It's not just the driving of the things it's the burble of the engine.. The fine high pitched whine as the turbo comes on boost. People say that you don't get a kick in the pants in the MY01, Mine does... .and I havent even PPP'd it yet.
Brilliant car

didnt rate the my00ppp i had at the end of the day.HOWEVER.....
sti5 i got a week or two ago is FAB!! a totally different car to the uk one i had.was worried initially about it being an import, but looked at service history, the love that the previous owner lavished on it, and now have a car that goes better than ppp car, is better built IMHO, looks beautiful ( mega sti 5 wing has really grown on me, it's outrageous ) and is looked after by specialists who give a ****
not slagging uk cars honest, but THIS is what i imagined an impreza to be!
love playing my daft banzai cd in it, always makes me smile
it's a wonderful life sometimes eh?

I'm going to get slaughtered here ...
Since selling the Impreza and buying a Diesel, I find I get *nearly* as much pleasure out of driving the diesel (gulp) there's nothing to beat that smug feeling when your tipping past the 500 mile per tank mark and havent had to fill up for 3 or 4 days :0 I normally wave at all the Scooby drivers parked at the Gas stations .. kerching...kerching...kerching
(Of course, swapping the Impreza for a second car thats actually faster did help I must say
Gary

Love it, wouldn't change it for the world (well, nothing I can afford!). K&N filter and Scoobysport backbox have turned me into a bit of a boy racer soundalike (not drivealike, I hope), but I think it's my repressed "modding" tendencies coming out.
I suspect the 50:1 ratio is about right
