...Found out a few days ago, with use of a magnet, that the bonnet on my 97MY WRX is alu....is this standard?

I believe the bootlid shoulde be too (tis on my MY94 WRX)(as well as the lower suspension arms!)

stuart, I hought only stis had ally suspension components.

My 93 WRX has allu bonnet but a steel boot. I thought this was normal?

Just compare the weight of the UK spec bonnets and boot lids

We had this a few weeks ago and I cheecked on my MY00 RA. The bonnet is ally but the boot is a very light steel and BTW the struts are pink .

Nope, regular WRX's do too, my 95 one does! ...and ally bonnet, but steel boot!
