STI Type UK- Dyno,s
#1
Love to hear if anyone has had one on a rolling road, both un-modded & modded i.e. Filters, exhausts etc.
Being trying for ages but have not got around to it.
Also does anyone know if there is a place in the Essex or East London area.
Cheers Neil

At Well Lane in Batley Yorkshire last month, my STi Type UK, totally standard drivetrain, marked up 277bhp and 242lbs torque.
I believe the torque figures were quoted as being inaccurate on the day and who knows re the BHP figure. But I had a smile all the same...
Cheers

Thanks Simon- good Stats.
My car has had the de-cat mid section,Ram air filter & Prodrive Back Box recently fitted. The garage estimated an extra 20 bhp, based on your stats it could be pushing 300.
Wow!

So 301 is an official quoted figure then....?
Was at my dealer this morning and they had not heard anything concrete on what punters were getting for their money.
Just the brief bulletin that was sent just over a week ago.
Thanks
Simon

Mine got 301BHP at John Nobles a few weeks back with a Blitz NUR Spec Exhaust with the centre cat removed an ITG Panel Filter.
Not bad I thought.

I was shown the development kit itinery at Subaru's STI track day at Castle Coombe a while back and actually got to drive the car with it on (along with a few others..sounds fantastic).
My Subaru dealer (CVC in Cardiff) have confirmation that it's 301BHP.
approx £2000 for
larger intercooler piping
remapped ECU
de-cat mid section
Prodrive back box (what's wrong with STI standard one!?)
high rear spoiler (for non prodrive style STI's)

Mmmmm, can't remember the exact price for the Prodrive spoiler, but guessing at £800, plus fitting. Very much doubt this is part of the PPP kit..... Poor deal for people who already have the Prodrive version if so....
My dealer told me that the PPP would have a DP change rather than the centre section as well. Intersting...

CVC didn't mention any of these parts to me! They did mention the rest including 301 Bhp, but no torque figures.

Anyone who wants their STi7 to go like it should should contact Iain Litchfield not only will he make the car go like S--t of a shovel, he will also make it handle properly ( Eibach Springs and Geomtry set up) all for a price much cheaper than Prodrive. I can assure you I had one of his cars which I have just sold ( wish I hadnt) and it was simply awesome and I have driven many quick cars in my time Ie 911 Turbo Ferrari 355 etc the Scooby would have killed them STONE DEAD
give the guy a ring and the added bonus is he is a real nice bloke

And likely kill your warranty stone dead on a UK car if you have a subsequent engine problem

Re the Prodrive wing being included in the PPP for £1995 - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - there really is some crap floats around on this BBS - not knocking you, just the dumb dealer.
Oh, and the STi already has silicone intercooler hoses, and you can't fit bigger ones.
And the dealer has missed a couple of other important bits out.....
And to answer the question re what's wrong with the standard STi backbox, it's even more restrictive than a MY01> WRX one - the pipe into the box is swaged down by 8mm or so....

Dave T-S,
So if I fit my Scoobysport BB, how much of a difference will it make?

You are not going to get a big BHP gain from any back box it helps the engine breathe better and being less restrictive get rid of the burnt air quicker which in turn lets it rev better. You may find the turbo spins up a little better but they are normally changed for the noise they produce. If you car still has cats they will sap the power before the air get anywhere near the backbox.

Don't get too excited:
Carolyn's STI7 = 5500 miles, totally standard exhaust.
My STi7 = 2000 miles, Scoobysport centre and backbox.
Results - Carolyn's car is faster.
BUT - mine sounds better....
