Question

At the Castle Combe meeting, my wife annoyed me greatly by saying that since she'd seen so many STi models in one place, she no longer thought of ours as particularly exclusive any more.

Well, it's only a grey-import V2 wagon, and I never claimed it to be exclusive in the way the first STi's were, let alone the P1 and the various 22Bs, 555s, RB5s and V-limiteds etc. But I'd like to know how many STi's of each model year have been produced to date, for all markets and all variants. I can't find anything on the Web. Does anyone out there have access to these numbers?

Question

Little Miss WRX,

If you're referring to the SIDC FAQ page, I looked there already, and it doesn't hold the figures I'm looking for. It deals with the limited-run models that I listed, and then it just says that the STi is in continuous production. AFAIK nothing is said of the numbers of normal STi builds, by body shape and by year, which is what I need to know.

Is there some other part of the SIDC site that contains such data?

Cool

There are the usual limited edition models - the 22B (400), V Limited (erm 900ish?) other non STI type R/RA's (again unsure of numbers)

Still looking for approximate numbers, but I doubt I will be able to find out easily........

the V-Ltd STi's had a limit of 1000 per model. My dash plaque says ***/1000 so there were 1000 STi5 TypeRA V-Ltd. Chrisp has a non STi MY00 TypeRA V-Ltd, they made 1000 of those too.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of this niformation is in the public domain.

I've seen a list of engine numbers, VIN numbers, against build months in the past, but it didn't tell you the breakdown between models (or even turbo/non turbo cars).

I guess that FHI in Japan would have records somewhere, but getting access to the data you require would probably be quite time consuming.
