How to value my car for sale ? (ppp+handling)
#1
Looking to sell my car. Just wondering how to value the usual extras on it.
Dark Blue Mica
MY99 (V)
16k mileage approx.
EXTRAS:
Air Conditioning
17" Gold Prodrive Alloys
Prodrive Performance Pack
Prodrive Handling Pack
Scoobysport Downpipe
ICE (incl Mp3/CD Player, amps, etc...)
Anyone give me a ballpark figurem or is there a FAQ on this?

A dealer would give £13-£14k for it (maybe a little more if there is a good margin in what he is selling). I think you will be lucky if you get £18k. You may be best putting you car back to standard spec and selling the bits separately.

Cheers lads.
I would like to avoid a private sale for obvious reasons (especially as a scoob attracts some dodgy people)

I sold my DBM MY99 (v-reg - was 16 months old when sold), it had..
PPP
Aircon
PIAAs
17" OZ Super Ts with new S02s plus spare set
Scoobysport BB
Scorpion centre
Falkland Downpipe
Induction Kit
Brake upgrade (pads/discs/BSB/lines)
Kenwood CD Mask ICE
with dyno sheet showing 287BHP 293lb/ft
All work done my main (supplying) dealer, FSH by same dealer. Mint condition (WW from new, and bumper respayed 1 month before sale to get rid of stone chips)
Mine had 42000 miles on it so far higher, but at 16 months old most dealers (Subaru or independant) were offering £12-13.5 on a car that cost £27500 16 months earlier In the end the best offer was £15000 from Anthony Betts Subaru in Milton Keynes, so sold it to them. They then sold it a week later for just under £17000
I did consider putting back to standard, but it wasn't worth it. The standard car would have been worth £11-12 max. I would have got no more than £1000 for the PPP+SS BB, PIAAs would have cost more to replace with std items than I would have got for them. Wheels would have struggled to get £500, plus I had sold the originals when new, and the aircon can't come out Several people advised me to sell the bits, but strangly enough, only those that were interested in the PPP ecu 'at the right price'
In short - keep your car as it is, but be prepared for a shock If you get £17k, you are doing well Private RB5 WRs are going for £17/18k (with an assumed £3k premium for the Ltd Edition) Even dealers are selling RB5 WRs at £20-22k, so won't put yours up and any more than £19000, and they will want best part of £2000 margin
As a REALLY depressing aside, I worked out my cost of ownership and running - over £17000 PER YEAR BEFORE MODIFICATIONS (was over £18k per year after mods )
MORAL: only buy a subaru for the ownership/driving experiance, and only sell if you have to

MORAL: If you buy ANY car new and sell it 16 months later, you're going to loose a STACK!
For a new car to make any kind of sense financially, you need to be keeping it for 3 years minimum....

Similar story to what I was offered.
T99 DBM - 33k miles, FSSH
17" ST2's PZero tryes
Colour coded
Sunroof
Full scoobysport system (albeit they were quoting without it)
6 disc CD
I was told it was worth £13k to them but as I was talking about a p/ex against a P1 they would give me £14500 (effectively using the £1500 discount on the P1) - and charge me full list on the P1.
So I agree with Gary, don't sell unless a) you like losing money, or, b) you have to!
I just decided to keep mine and play around with it a bit more!
