Question

(I would have posted this on the GT bulletin board but nobody seems to use it! and apologies for the tenuous subaru content).

Having just bought GT2, I see that in the National comps such as Japan, Britain, Germany etc there are limits as to how powerful your car is before you can enter ..

As some of you seem to have completed as much of the the game as possible, does anybody have a definitive list of which cars they used in each section i.e.

~197 .. I used the ...
~246 .. etc etc

I could figure it out myself I suppose .. I wonder how many of you used the same cars for each section .. ?

(I'm still a couple of grand short of my Stiv6 type RA .. well it WILL be mine!)

Cheers for any help.
Sonic.

P.S. OH, I saw a 100 odd page book when I bought GT2 detailing hints/tips .. all cars etc .. it was about 14 quid methinks so thought sod that

Hmmm dunno about the measly small power classes. I went for an RX7 to start with til I got enough money for an STi VI Type R which I then did up as much as poss (gets up to about 490bhp). Then I went for the big boys (Mugen NSX GT and Unisia Skyline). These are too powerful for any class except the Free entries but they're damn fine cars...

I did use the STi in the muscle car class though - pretty amusing.

For both ~197 and ~245 I used a tuned (to 192hp) Elise 190, lightened, super-soft slicks. Wiped the floor with eveything. Even won one of the ~295.

Weird thing though - for rest of 295 was planning to get Evo VI, take 276 to 295, lighted, tyres etc, but Evo has 305BHP after you buy it, even though all info says 276??? even standard car isn't allowed in ~295? Just have to tune elise higher!!

Have also got yellow STi VI RA tuned to c380 - great fun.

I started with a honda prelude, tuned to 217 with initial 10k, then took it up to 250 to earn enough cash to get STi

How sad it this

Oh yeah, don't bother using the Speed 12 for anything. It's a bit of an animal

Richard,

The speed 12 is ok, if you have analog control and a bit of finesse. Still wheelspins in 5th though!

Cool

If you are after quick cash, concentrate on the Special Events classifed by drive type e.g. 4wd championship. Mid engined etc. You win bonus cars for each race some of which are worth a goodly sum. E.g. 3rd Mid-Engined Race which is very easy to win with a venturi or the like. And you win a GT 40 Worth 250K. The race is only 2 laps and takes a few minutes. do it a couple of times and you can go on a mad shopping spree...

The third event in the touring car trophy is also good value. You win a 250K 700 bhp skyline. This will enable you to win the third event in the GT Allstars and hey presto 50K Prize + the Speed 12 (worth 500K)

Ah well that's my problem - I have neither an analogue control nor any finesse

I'll stick to me Skyline...

did exactly the same as GaryC - but I think doing the weight reduction on the elise was a mistake - it made it much twitchier....

have won all B and A licence races with it - put some dirt tyres on and went rallying - which was cool but lost abysmally every time....!!

Thumbs up

Must agree the Speed 12 is manic. nothing can live with from fourth/fifth gear (when the majority of the wheel spinning stops!) I put the full race conversion on it (bhp is only 50 less than the weight in kilos) ans still can not keep the car on the track. I have never lost a car sooo much in fourth gear.

I hate to admit, i know i'm going to be shot down in flames, but my second car was the E*O6. I just wanted to see how the other half lived.

non...you just manage to lose them in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th instead..ho ho (I expect abuse back pansy boy!)

How have you managed to afford a speed 12 so quickly?? Can you load your garage from GT1 and sell it by any chance? Or are you just great?

Has anyone bought the Esprit GT1 yet? cos it looks COOL!!!!!!

Cheers for the info .. I won all the ~197 with some dodgy ol' skyline (91 I think) ..

Then bought a Supra (hold fire for a mo) to win all the ~245 stuff (scooby's are all 276 so couldn't use one of them) .. sold it as the handling was crap

.. I've now got my hands on an Sti Type RA (all kitted up now) which I used to win all ~295 and is now at @380 .. had to give up about 2 o'clock last night as the 'missus' was complaining ..

Anybody tried the 'corkscrew' bit in Laguna Seca in the speed 12 .. don't fancy it meself.

Sonic.

Oh yeah, Markus, I was on another bulletin board which was mentioned in a few posts late last month .. there is no-one on it

Abouse back, as if I would stoop that low. By the way who was the person you had the 'nightmare' at the donnington track day this time last year in my car? (yes, i still bring this one up!)

Speed 12 is given to you for winning third or fourth race in Gran Tursimo All Stars. Of course i'm great (or is that I have no life).

Sonic, I Have 'tried' to take the corkscrew at laguna seca. It can prove eventfull, if you approach at flat out from the left handside, you actually take flight of the top of the hill, makes breaking very difficult for the corner. You land at about 250kph with about a metre to break in.
