IM are currently contemplating some photos of stone chips on my MY00 - I'll post results when I've heard back from them.

Andy.

hehe!!!
They had a real problem trying to match the mudflaps with the new style bodywork, but finaly found some that did.Flimsey little things though, but they do the trick.just ask your dealer and they will find some that fit.

Exclamation

I'd be interested to know the colours of the affected cars and the mileage when the chips started appearing.

The reason I mention this, our two MY00's did 18000 miles (green) and 8000 miles (DBM) respectively in 9 months with no chips at all to speak of (and DBM is supposed to be one of the worst affected colours).

In three weeks our two MY01's have done 1800 miles (red mica) and 900 miles (blue/black mica) respectively.
These have only one chip between them, on Carolyn's bonnet, caused by s stone kicked up by mine 100 yards out of the dealer when we picked them up

Have we just been lucky?

So that's the cause of the one on my bonnet. I would have parked further away from the road if I'd known you were in the vicinity.

I have a MY01 and at 2,000 miles got a deep stone chip on the bonnet which had actually slightly dented it. I think this happended at speed on the motorway. I put this down to 2 things. The shape of the bonnet is low at the front and is made from aluminium. I had to have the bonnet resprayed, which was done at the same time as boot. This had to be done due to some minor scratches when supplied. The dealer asked me if I wanted the boot fixing, which of course I did, so I decided to have both done at the same time. They charged me half price for the bonnet as a compensation for the scratches, but maybe I should have moaned and got it done for free.

Anyway, since done a further 1,000 miles and luckily no stone chips yet. Hopefully the new paintwork will be harder.
