All cars sold in the UK up to the MY01 were fitted at dealers not at the factory so technically it is possible.

Latterly the installs were fitted by Coolair Ltd - a national company - they probably have a website for contact details.

Thumbs down

i thought the controls that they fitted on my old my00 looked AWFUL. the little slidy control thing is tacky. sti has MUCH nicer controls. is it possible to use one of these installations instead?

Cool

Dunk,

You will be looking at £1000 to have aircon installed.

The WRX will have climate control not air con, so this leads to the issue of how to control the climate control as IIRC, the Climate control is controlled by the ECU. What you may find is the best bet, is to use the "plumbing" from the WRX and get the controls off a UK car. I'd give coolair a ring as Dave T-S suggested, if only to find out what the expensive bits are, may not be worth the hassle of getting the pipework off , if new pipes are only a few quid.

Before fitting it you would need to replace all the seals anyway, if the car has been standing any time. Also the gas isn't cheap, my guess would be you could get it done for a saving of a few hundered pounds, may just be worth biting the bullrt and shelling out the grand that yur friendly dealer wants.

Looks like more trouble than it's worth and that I'd be better going for a complete install.

Thanks
