Whilst a lot of people are ranting, allow me to add my 2p's worth....

Situation:

Buying a set of Defi Gauges off someone, need to get 4 removed from his car and put into mine, our downpipes are being changed too his back to standard mine to accomodate the EGT probe....a good few hours work I imagine which is worth a bit of money to anyone who can do it....so I thought anyway.

Both of us being based in the South there is no-one who is really local that can do it, so ring a couple of people who have web sites that most would have heard of, no none of the 'big guns' of the tuning world but nonetheless I would expect at least a courtesy call back.....

Rang this so called 'Rally Specialist' in Kent @ 12pm they comment on how they can do this but it will take 5 hours or so in total, I am like that's fine, how much as a 'guesstimate' would it cost? "we'll call you back with a price in 15 mins" - Cool I think...

1400 - Nothing, Called them back, "oh yeah just working it out now - be 5 mins get right back to you m8" - ok....

1615 - Guess what? nowt, not a sausage, so call them back.... "Sorry he's gone home you need to speak with him really as he does all the pricing"!!!! - WTF are these people on, do they not want a few hours of easy business?

So...In the mean time rang another so called "Tuner" in the South West, got thru to his mobile as per his website contact details, spoke to him....

"Defi Gauges?? What are they? Gauges?" - Erm yes hence GAUGES, "oh right, never fitted gauges to a Subaru!" - ok what about the d/p fitting? - "erm never fitted exhausts to a subaru either!!!!" ok then not to worry - "We can try tho, let me quote you - I'll call you back" - Guess what diddly squat tho I dont want to give my car to some muppet who doesn't know what they are doing otherwise I'd do it myself.....

Oh I did speak to one very helpful person, Jane from Nitosport, she is getting back to me later to see if they can do it

Just seems that everyone is always blagging how good they are in the tuning world but most customers like myself are thoroughly pi55ed off with having to call people like 10 times before you get a no or maybe, why not just say "Sorry we cannot do this" instead of bullsh1tting everyone and then no wonder the tuning world has such a sh1te reputation, I am probably alone here but this has really got on my t1ts.... >

When you find a good tuner, stick with them.I travel a long way to one particular garage, even though we've had our issues and don't get on.The work speaks for itself so I go back.

Yeah you are right, I do know one tuner that I regard as very good but he's a mare to get hold of nowdays, did offer him business first but he's not returned my call either, so have to look at other options.

I just find it sometimes a complete waste of time trying to do anything with my Scoob.....

Having had my car 7 months and spent at least £3k on it, I think that the tuning scene is a bit of a joke at the mo.
