Well, I looked at lots of Integrales in the past week, but as magic as they are they felt tinny compared to modern machinery, and the wife would not have me spend 15k+ (I was looking at immaculate Evo2s) on 8-9 y.o. cars. They drove stupendously though.
I also drove the MY01 for a whole weekend.....and our family car BM330 felt faster, it was like a try-hard BM with uglier looks but better steering. The prices for the EvoVII have just been released here in Italy and it's definitely out (33k in UK money! ).
So, with the new Integra-R not due here until mid-2002 the choice has been made: Focus RS deposit will be put down this weekend, when I find the dealer giving me the best trade-in deal on my Elise 111S (which is currently worth about as much as the RS so it should basically be a straight swap without cash exchanging hands ).
Will give a full report when it arrives, deliveries expected in Italy in mid-late september. Thanks to all those who gave me advice on the next motor.
