New STi arrival date?

I also read that the UK version of the STi will be down on power when compared to the Japanese spec. version.
Presumably, this is because the car can't meet emissions regs. and keep the 276bhp power output.
Maybe it will be a case of buying the car in slightly detuned form, and then adding a PPP equivalent to get the power back.
Still, I guess we won't know until IM make an official announcement.
Andy.

An official source at Subaru told me only last week that there is no official word! Predicted 1-2 years.
Initial press reports said 12 months after the launch of the WRX. In Japan they are taking orders for cars twice as fast as they can manufacture the 6-speed box and so until they up production of the boxes, or orders fall off, there is no incentive to find new markets.
All adds up to a slightly less than rosy picture.

I don't understand these production delays. When I ordered my STi7 in Japan in Feb the dealer had 450 fully loaded Blue STi saloons. They had smaller numbers of all other models, but their total stock (for the Tokyo Subaru chain) was over 500 STis.
The delivery time was about 3-4 weeks.
Hopefully they won't launch it officially for ages in the UK so the resell price of mine stays up!
