Annual body service - wot's all that about?
#1
First time I asked a question here so be gentle with me!!
Received a letter from the broker who supplied my UK spec bug-eye (via Holland) saying that, in order to avoid invalidating the anti-corrision warranty, an annual body service should be carried out within 28 days of the anniversary of delivery. Sounds fair enough I thought if they are going to give paintwork a touch up (WRB and 25K+ motorway miles p.a. = stonechips), maybe treat the underside of the car and a steamcleaned engine would be nice!
Timing coincided with the 30K mile service so booked in to to local dealership (I won't name names until I know they've fcuked me over!). Collected my car after two days (!) to find that I have been charged £99 plus VAT for the body service and the paintwork hasn't even been washed let alone inspected. Engine bay still carrying 12 months worth of dirt.
At £118 a year, sounds more like an insurance policy to me!
Or is it just me?
Any comments gratefully received

They check & touch up the underseal and spray sweet smelling waxoil into your crevices! The 2 days is usually so they can clean the underside and thoroughly dry it before doing any underseal work.
Price sounds about right to me, I've heard of dealers charging £140. It's the only way of keeping your bodywork warranty intact.
