Do you (Saturday) people want to meet up before hand? A few yrs ago we all met opposite the race course then moved on to the FOS "as one". It looked and sounded great

Went on Friday to miss the crowds. Still loads of people but maybe a little less atmosphere although the weather didn't help. It's still a brilliant event though.
The current F1 cars are just ridiculous, old Tyrrell's beautiful (Jackie Stewart - boyhood hero and still the most professional sportsman of all time! In fact the recent documentary series on C4 actually moved me to tears when he was talking of all the friends he lost during his career and Paul Stewart fighting cancer - especially moving as my wife has also had and beaten, cancer)
Deep breath...
Back to Festival of Speed. The Can-Am cars were just thunderous and the stars were the GT40, 917 and Ferrari 512.
I actually managed to persuade 'her indoors' to come this year and we stayed Friday night at a pub near Petersfield called the Troopper Inn. Lovely place, superb food and lovely accomodation, we sat and got quietly pissed over beer, Aberdeen Angus steaks and a bottle of Shiraz! I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Also saw a pensioner driving a Vanquish in a petrol station nearby - what a car! Also all the nutty superbikers wheelying away from traffic lights and loads of scoobs waving made for a great couple of days.
