Hot on the heals of the posting about concern over the actual source of "Euro Import" cars, is it possible given the VIN / Chasis Number to verify the country of origin of a vehicle?

Due to insurance problems, I gave Greenlight my VIN and they gave this to IM and IM could tell where the car had been sourced from.
So, yes, kind of, but I doubt IM would do it for just anyone over the phone....
