Chiark

If it was a 2dr, it was either the Motorshow car or the one used for the video (driven by me!! ).
Neither were used as development cars and neither were owned by Prodrive.

Harj

I don't know where your information came from but you are somewhat wide of the mark! (excuse the pun)

We have only sold 1 P1 development car and this is it!

It was used for development, homologation and some journalist appraisal when the car was announced.

It did not have the sort of abuse that journalists usually give press cars as they only had the car for few hours at a time.

Hi Mike

My local dealer had a 2 door Sonic Blue STI a few months ago - that was apparently another Prodrive test mule...

???? Were they telling porkies ????

From the information ive been given from Prodrive and ive seen quite a few of these there, "Don't touch them" just an STI4 or 5 with some P1 bits on it.

I know they sold a couple of these off for 12K and some people are trying to make some money out of them! even Prodrive didn' want them.

Mike apologies if im wrong but there are 2 others in Warwick that Prodrive sold so I find it difficult to beleive that there was only 1, a while back there was another one advertised for alot cheaper with a different front bumper but still said "White P1 Prototype"

I keep up with the times in the car sales area and im sure im not mistaken by seeing more than 1 for sale!

It would appear the boot is on the other foot.

Sorry Harj, clearly I was wrong, and everything you say is in fact gospel.

Well, I've started using a different dealer for servicing anyhow as the local lot charged me for 11 sump bung washers at the last service and put in a Ramair panel filter into my MY00.

They only used one washer. Ok, they're only 90p, but it's the principle. And the panel filter isn't recommended by Prodrive any more for my vintage.

Could the "other" P1 "protoypes" have just been chase/gravel cars from the WRC program, in which case they will be properly abused and knackered.

Harj, apologies ofr being harsh, it would appear that everyone jumped on the laughing at you bandwagon, and I blame myself.

Was only playing

My fault for turning a serious thread into a take the pi55 one.

This car was at Listers a while back. I they bought it on customer request. Not sure who from.

Anyway, I had a quick look at it.

Looks like it has had a hard life to me, but then what do I know.

Harj

Who sold them as P1 prototypes?

As I said there was only 1 car that was used for homologation etc.

We have never fitfed a different front bumper to any car, only added the lip spoiler and on this car the carbon deflectors in front of the wheels.
