anyone heard of getting this much out of a scoob? Had a conversation with one of my sisters unknown in-laws, who initally just seemed interested in the fact I had a scoob. Then I get asked how much bhp...and having a standard MY98 turbo..the 210 figure came out. ' Oh my mates got an 800 bhp' one? and its supposed to be roaming around the streets of London...I decided to end the conversation, as it seemed a bit far fetched for a street car....pls correct me if I'm miss-informed.

When people talk of massive power engines they neglect to mention the 50 hour life or the epochlike turbo lag.
800bhp may be possible but VERY expensive and completely unusable on the road. He's obviously a BS merchant.

Woz,
Subaru's own rallycross car was supposed to be about 800bhp, 200 mph & 0-60 in 2 secs but even they couldn't keep the bloody thing running - massive overheating problem, so I heard!!
Be nice to have a go though, wouldn't it!

It actually reminds me of a conversation at work a little while ago, it didnt last long!
"is that your scooby?", "yeah", "what is it a Jap?", "no its a UK turbo with a few mods", "oh my mates got the Jap one with twin turbo, you know the new one", "oh yeah THAT ONE".
What a pr1ck!
MD.

that is ages old.
he has since got 10.01 @ 144 mph with 550 horsepower at the wheels.
apparently nearer 650 at the crank but I dont know if transmission loss is proprtional to output power so it could be 700+

That 800bhp Scoob is probably Jets old PRO PRO model before he sold it to make way for the 1000bhp Supra.
Shame we don't here from him anymore!

cool..thanks guys...my first thread and I got 2 pages. Just thought I'd check, as I have heard of 1000bhp skylines. I totally
need that bs detecter Sheepsplitter.
Does the UK have a street limit on bhp..like the 280 Jap thing?

Woz, short answer: no.
And the Japanese 280bhp "limit" is a "genleman's agreement" for production cars. It rather begs the question about Supras, which come with more, or the S202 (or whatever), or Evo VI or VII in various guises, but still the "agreement" stands. Apparently. I think.
I wonder if some of the bigger HP production cars are sold in the same way as PPP over here to avoid the hassles - ie, buy the car standard and then someone fits the PPP/extra bits/... It has to be this way in the UK in order to avoid EU emissions legislation I believe.

Dont know what he thought! All I know is I just cannot tolerate people spurting off like that, there were some funny posts a while ago re what the strangest/funniest/daftest comments that people have heard/had said to them re Scoobys.
