i recently crashed my scooby which was very upsetting the front end needs a facelift but anyway i have had to make a claim which is seriously going to **** my insurance....

the question is does anybody know any sly techniques to get the most out of my claim e.g. mesh grill, clear front indicators etc.

my car goes in on monday to get sorted..

No, but if you talk to the workshop I dunno why you cannot pay the extra for different bits to be added?

They will then increase your premium further though..

Either that or ask for the money from the quote the garage give and take it elsewhere and have what ever you want put on it?

Alternatively, you could try 'having a deal' with the workshop manager...a drink to supply the 'enhanced' parts ?

Depends on how approachable they are I spose.

Good luck, MD.

if its an insurance job, a coachworks near me gives you a quote from them and 'organises' a quote from another garage which arrives in the post days later on other stationary.

obviously the quote of the coachworks you want to do the work is cheaper and includes all the work you want done (not necessarily wot needs doin only) and is the one you provide to the insurers. dunno if this is common practice amongst repairers or not...

Rift, yes that is comonplace

re the claim, just speak nicely to the estimator / manager, they sould be up for a deal, we always were, I got our kid a different bumper when we repaired his car

If that doesn't work just get a pro forma invoice and take the job elsewhere.
