Asking on behalf of the old man, how much should one pay for a UK 22B and how much should one pay for a Jap inport 22b?
Seen a Jap inport, low miles (8500) for £32000 - hows that: too high, just right or brilliant?
Cheers

32K for a low mileage Import is above average now, if you wait there is always one that comes up for as low as 28K with 10-15K on it. 8.5K isn't worth an extra 3-4 I think, UK 22B's are normally a slightly higher premium which fetch around 32-35K for a nice clean car.
Remember don't rush in and buy the 1st one you see as 1 month there might be 3 good ones for sale and the next month 3 absolute minters for sale.
Something like a 22B is worth waiting for, in a couple of years from now there will be a high premium for them sp its a good time even though the market will worsen before it gets better and then really good for 22B owners.

I know of a TypeUK that's available for around £35k. Still worth a premium over import IMHO because you can extend the warranty for another 2 years for about £300 and parts are available for 'em pretty readily.
I say I know of, well it's mine in fact. I think it's too much money frankly, but don't care to sell it for less and don't care either way if it goes or not.
I've heard of 2 trade recently(Past 6 months) for about £39k..so mines a bargain!
Alcon brakes, knocklink, backbox...otherwise standard. 16k miles.
It ain't in the for sale section because I'm not 'actively' trying to sell...but always for sale at the right price
If I sold it I don't know what I'd get though...damn!

Do the type UK 22b's have ABS or not?
I think I'm right in saying the Jap versions don't have ABS because they have the water spray instead.
Just went to see a Jap 22b, looked great!

David im quite sure the type UK doesn't have ABS as they all have water spray, the UK cars have Different longer gearing and the suspension has been made a little more subtle. I can't see anything wrong with the suspension as ive done 10K miles in the BSRT 22B and it feels like the way a car of its power and nature should feel like.
Also the headlights are slightly different to MY00 types which means they have a reflective back instead of plain Scooby lights from previoud and it has a Type UK on the back from what i can remember.

AP clutch wasn't changed on all of them...
mine had original Excedy when I got it - I changed to AP when that failed. I think Jacks was on original clutch when it went to Listers and was sold on also.

Apparently there are some cars whether uk or jap that have airbags and abs. It could be arranged as a factory option and is v rare. Still at the expense of the centre diff though
Apparently you could spec up the engine internals at the same time, although no one knows what is inside them when they are bought.
Can someone who has opened one up confirm if it is a closed deck block like it is supposed to be?

Suspension is the same, None of the 22B's have ABS, Longer gearing on the UK car. UK car also has the (much better) AP Racing twin plate clutch. And a nice little badge on the back.
Import will have a limited edition plaque inside (lower centre console) 214/400 or similar.
