Morning all, this is not meant to be a slagging/slanging match thread but for those who do not like Scoobynet or the community then i have the following.
This is IMHO, not speaking on behalf of Scoobynet or the moddies - more my own thoughts and comments.
If you do not like Scoobynet, feel strongly enough about, the threads or the people who frequent it the why not start up your own Scooby/car BBS!
Hey, if you don't fancy that amount of work and time/financial commitmement then go elsewhere. There are plenty of other car/motoring boards.
Or, If you want to change or comment then try constructive critisism.
Like most things in life you get out what you put in.
The choice is there for all.
Regards
Paul

Everyone likes it at least 99% or they wouldnt be here. You chaps give me (cant speak for everyone else) an extremely valuable resource cos I dont know ANYTHING about my scoob and, touch wood, havent had any problems with it in 2 years. But, when I wanted somw wheels I came on here. When I want an exhasut I'll ask for advice from the guys that know. Ive started reading the computer forum in the last week that previously I hadnt even entered. Ive had some help from the ICE forum.
Isnt that one of the big reasons its all here? ANd its "PRAISE BE!" to the chaps running all this, cos if people had the slightest idea what I imagine you have to do to keep this thing going 24/7/365/etc etc they would likely run away.
And finally..I dont even know what HTML stands for, so if its OK with you I'll NOT start my own BBS..I'll keep using yours

GFrom Webmaster:
So As yourself Paul or as a Moderator - do you think this post is one of the more pointless and is just adding to the noise ?
Remember that scoobynet does not and WILL NOT dictate what the community wants to talk about. There are sections like general for general conversation of the community, like going into a HUGE pub and talking to everyone.. but better than that, you get to select which conversations you want to join in on and can ignore the ones you don't want to.
If the majority of the scoobynet community wants to talk about something you don't want to, then it is you that is out of place, not them.
My advice would be to enjoy the parts you enjoy, and ignore the parts you don't.

Well i'm confused as to the point of this topic. Simon has stated he doesn't want to control what's debated - so why do you ?
Are people now not allowed to start topics that you don't like "personally" ?
There are at least 2 BBSs that have been spawned from Scoobynet because people did feel it was better to go elsewhere (or felt they had to) - so its not exactly a new suggestion. And every time it happens Scoobynet loses something. So I for one would rather it happened as little as possible rather than encourage it.

Really my point is that it is easy to knock or slag of something and a shame there is not more constructive comments/critisism thats all.
I posted this thread having had a good read through a lotta other threads this morning, yes i should get out more but heh. Not gonna name names, just thought that i would make my point and how i feel. No, my suggestion is not a new one, few suggestions are, it does not stop me from suggesting this option 'cause it is not my idea.
I have no wish to control the content other than remove the stuff that falls outside moderators guidleines - offensive/racist, etc.
What are the address of the other BBS's as i would like to have a gander at them.

For some reason, I'm hooked on scoobynet. Even if I do sell my car and probably get a different one, I'd still stick to Scoobynet. Not that I'm selling my scooby of course..
