Question

can anybody tell me when deep blue mica was introduced on a uk spec turbo saloon . I can probably only afford a MY97 but I cant find one in this colour?. Also I belive the front end was updated along with various other items on the car in 97, is this worth paying more for? or will a scooby novice like myself not notice! Please excuse my total lack of knowledge, but any help in buying my 1st impreza will be gratefully received

Chaz,

In Australia, DBM was introduced for the MY99.
I think its the same for UK cars too.

Deep Blue Mica was introduced in the MY00 car (available from late 1999 here) earlier models are available in a similar colour Dark Blue Mica. In poor light the colours look similar but Deep BM is a bit lighter than Dark BM and looks stunning in sunshine. Both colours are very soft paints prone to chiping, scratching and swirl marks - Dark BM being the worst.

In my opinion the face lifted >MY98 is significantly better in terms of looks/trim quality.
