Has anyone had the 18" Prodrive wheels fitted on their Type Uk STI yet? I am just about to order a new one and don't like gold wheels, so considering the option of either dust-coating the wheels to make them silver, or upgrading them to the Prodrive 18" options.

In particular I appreciate that the ride will probably be a bit crunchier, but I have a DEP on my current Scoob (MY2000) so that is fairly crunchy anyway. On a test drive of a new TYPE UK I actually found it not as harsh in standard form as my car. Anyone got any informed views?

Also any news on the PPP?

Cheers

Tom's got 18"s on his - wonderful. I don't think they affect the ride detrimentally at all.

Aren't the Prodrive ones called "Crystal Titanium" or something like that?

Try fitting a lighter 18" wheel .. say a nice forged one..

This will ride just as well even though you are running a lower section tyre. Its all in the rotating unsprung weight tha' knows!

Thumbs up

How's this for size

18" Toyo's with the Eibach variable rate springs fitted, ride is initially softer but soon firms up under load. Ride reduced by approx 22mm. Doesn't tramline under braking, relaxed on motorways, but game on the twisty stuff
