Default THOUGHTS ON RARE BUGEYE

Hello,
I haven’t been on the site for a few months but i still have the red spec c blob ,the one signed by Jimmy Mcrae.
I am definately not selling it but have the chance of what i think is a very special car in a months time.
Just wondering what the thoughts are with it regarding price and i know it is a rare beast!
The car has only had one owner (in Japan) ,only covered 62,000 miles and seems to be in standard condition!
It is a Spec C Type Ra and seemingly only around 178 were made over there?
I do want the car but not sure on price.
I know there was, might still be one at Guy Francis recently but i can’t bear to sell any of the cars i have just now so it means as usual parting with the cash!
I do love these in white but i prefer cars to stand out more, bigger spoilers ,different wheels etc etc.
However,i know they are usually worth more in standard form so i wouldn’t modify it in anyway.
Just interested to hear the members thoughts.
Thanks.
Speedie.

is there PPF on the bumpers or something, cant figure out why they are off shade of white but have white circles on them? even the scoop is off white - actually nearly every plastic is wrong shade of white compared to the body - would do my head in that

Hello Gambit,
I have still to see it in the flesh so will inspect then.
I sold cars for 20 years at a large dealership and you wouldn’t believe how many plastic bumpers did not match the body ,these were brand new in the showroom!!!

It's common with white paint on plastic parts to catch different shade of paint.Could be resolved with polish.
It's not s202 ,nothing special in my opinion.
Poor car with old suspension parts ,with weak 2.0l single scroll turbo setup.
Will You just look on it or drive it?
As investment i would go with s202 or evo 5,6
As recent spec C twin scroll owner driving Ra You will be disappointed me thinks.

Hello,
I will drive it but it won’t be replacing my spec c,no way!
My other car is a Megane Rs Trophy R and i really don’t see how it will replace that either!
Will see after the drive but doesn’t sound like it will blow me away.
I did think with the low miles and one owner that it has appeal but i have to love the drive before i am tempted.👍🏻

still waiting for someone to explain the white circles on the bumpers.....

EDIT: guessing its maybe old stickers that have been peeled off to reveal original fresh paint

Based on what you have said, it doesn't sound like the car for you. Its not filling a gap or doing something the others aren't doing.

On a side note why did you upload the screen shot and not the pictures from your gallery?

It's not a Spec C RA. It's an STi RA, as is the one at Guy Francis. VIN will be GDBA whereas the Spec C is GDBB.
You can see the I/C spray is under the bonnet, it will be in the boot on the RA Spec C. No BBS wheels and it has the regular STi rear spoiler.
Mine is a GDBA STi RA:

Not a patch on an S202 as mentioned but still a much rarer car than the S202.

Gonna blame the guy that sent them to you then

Completely off topic but was speaking to a guy at work about this (screenshot photos) and he gave me an answer which seems plausible. Basically when you go to share, depending on the app it won't show all the photos, taking a screenshot of the picture in the gallery "forces" it to the top, the other reason is when you take a screenshot it brings up the editing menu. Not sure how true all of that is though as I'm more of a desktop/laptop guy when it comes to stuff like that.

So,
My friends rare bug has arrived, the STI RA,one japanese owner and 61,000 miles!!!
It looks great in white but hasn’t been touched yet so needs the full clean and machine polish.
I haven’t driven it

Protective sticker still there from new!

but it looks like there are still protective stickers in the back that are slowly coming away!
I want it for how it looks and sounds but i want most things JDM that look good.
Here are the pics i took.

Nice but not for me,ouch manual windows.
As investment it needs to stay oem,to drive it You need a lot to do suspension wise on 25y old car.
