Default forged engine

my blobeye sti has been running 430bhp for few years now and i only got it this year it has 110,000 miles on the clock and i was thinking about a forged engine because i dont know how its been treat before my ownership
if i go for a full forged piston set can i use the original block or do i need to get a new short block and do the hole thing?

If the block is in usable condition which it should be then absolutely you can.

If it's running fine , then leave alone and re build it when it goes , no point spending ££ if it's not needed , a forged engine around 6k £ or so to do , put the money in a different bank account till it's needed 👍😁

Worth doing seeing first signs of engine failure-oil coolant burn, rod bearing etc.
Mine lasted 5 years with head gasket issue.

I've had 2x Hg failure and one bottom end starting to knock , all on 2.5 engines , not left it long after the failure started , on all occasions heads and block and rods have been fine to re use 👍 leaving it when failure starts is asking for issues , but the state of your current engine maybe fine for sometime , it's a case of how long is a piece of string , as they say 👍
