How often do you clean your Scoob.

1. When there's enough **** on the car that if you scuffed the side, it might scratch the paint!
2. The birds have had a curry the night before and targeted my scoob.
usually once a week
slightly off thread, I have a few surface scratches on my car - is there a wax I can use regularly that will clear this up? wax wixard by any chance?

Wax won't get scrathes out!! Wax merely covers the car with a 'wax coating'! which you can them buff to a shine, and protects the paint in one You need a polish. WW Cleanse is good, as is Mer for more serious/deeper scratches. But make sure you wax after polishing

Whenever it rains
Ok, not quite... Not regularly... I'd say I used to do it about 3-4 times a year, but I think I'll try to include one with the 7500 mile service, or oil change... they have all the equipment for waxing, etc... I'll see. It goes to the 1000 mile serviçe monday... I guess I'll ask them for the first cleaning. (They didn't have time when I picked it up, because that as soon as they called to say it was here, I just told them I WANT THE CAR TODAY !!! They delivered, but didn't have time to clean it (Wonder why ? )
Cheers

Does any one ever take the wheels off, to clean and polish the inside of the rim?
AlanG, yeh, cleaning every single spoke, cleaning round the rim, cleaning inside the nut holes, cleaning the centre caps, cleaning the remote control.
Forget the last one, went into auto pilot.
Hi Amanda, it depends what you want me to be offering!

I`m amazed at the lack of care some of you show towards a car you profess to be the "dogs" !
Having been to a number of Scoob and R.S. meetings it is often quite noticable how well the R.S. guys look after their cars (a few tatty, but not many. No childish comments about Fords please guys!) I wash my Scoob usually at least once aweek, keep the underbonnet area very clean and inside as spotless as possible. I was recently at a Scoob specialist who was amazed at how clean it was under the bonnet, this surprised me as I assumed any enthusiast would do the same?

Fortunately I have my car washed for me.
Can't touch that lovely body without taking her back in the garage and giving her a jolly good rogering ...
I thought rally cars were supposed to be dirty though.
Silly me.
You'll be saying you drive on the roads without taking detours across the parks next

Quick wash & dry every Sunday if its fine. Then look on in dismay as it p****s down shortly after - usually Every couple of months give it the full works: wash, wax, wheels, windows,rain-x etc.

After 1 very long drive or after 4 short drives. I do this due to huge amounts of dust here in Greece. Also lots of insects and bird droppings. After each drive I inspect for insects and bird droppings on the bumper, grille, bonnet and mirrors. If any, I get it off with Meguiars final inspection. I just spray on and then wipe off with terry cotton towel, cause if the crap stays on it sinks into the paint. I wax once every 4 washes.

The outside at least once a week, but I try to keep the inside clean at all times - but I'm a bit **** when it comes to keeping the Scooby clean.
That's until it's pi$$ing down or snowing, then it doesn't get touched until the weathers better

As I got my car from new Iv`e been able to 'maintain' the condition, but it did take a lot of work initially to remove the wax that is applied to the underbonnet area, for this I used white spirit. Once it is clean just a general wipe over with an old, damp leather at car wash time, with an occasional go with the white spirit. Try vinyl/rubber cleaner on the hoses, air box etc. it really brightens up the otherwise rather uninspiring underbonnet layout of the Scoob.

Were you serious about waxing after polishing? I have been using MER, with T-cut for deeper scratches, and have never put anything on the car after buffing the MER off.
