Brembo repair / issues
I have a few cars with the Sti brembos fitted , when it comes to changing discs or bleeding them etc , there is often some concern , if it will pull the thread on the calliper mounting bolts or will I have a bleeding issue , nipple snap thread pull etc , the main issue I have had is the caliper mounting bolt issue pulling the thread , I have found that if where the bolt sticks out of the caliper towards the disc , if the end of the mounting bolt is cleaned then the chances of pulling the thread is reduced , I have heli coiled these before only once not working well as the bolt had snapped in the caliper , but I did find Pro Calliper in East London really good , they sorted out some bleed nipples very well as I knew I could not do it , posted them too him quick turn around , very good job done , the brembos are a good upgrade but have their issues , mainly around mixing steel bolts and aluminium plus as above dirty threads when taking the mounting bolt off them .

It's a shame when they were not first made that they did not have steel insert threads in the bleed nipple areas and the caliper mounting bolt areas , I expect if this was done there would be very few issues , and adding to that , they are now silly prices , I broke a Fsti a few years back possibly three years or so ago , sold all four brembo callipers for 650 £ posted , now they are around 1 k for an axle set and that's not refurbed ☹️👍

I've never had problems since starting to apply copper slip to the threads of my bleed nipples, both on my mk3 Mondeo and Subaru GF8 estate.
