Default RCM thermal spacer

Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has bought the RCM thermal spacer and did it make much of a difference.

I have to take the mainfold off soon to repaint it

I have a set on my car, mainly to give extra clearance for a 3” turbo inlet, however I can drive the car really hard and then put my hand on the inlet manifold afterwards and it’s luke warm. I am running a 4” thick FMIC too though.

I fitted o-ring* type thermal spacers to my track car years ago (Not RCM, probably from AS performance or Advance Automotives)
I recall using an IR temp gauge before and after and could see a significant reduction in temperature of the intake manifold.

Its also worth putting thermal spacers between the coolant header tank and the intake too.

*Went for o-ring style because its a track car and often being pulled apart for inspection and repairs. O-rings can be reused for longer and are also much cheaper to replace than stock gaskets everytime you pull the manifold.
