Scooby value
Hi was hoping someone could give a guesstimating to what I should Shelly my scooby for .
it’s a 2.0 awd turbo estate - midnight blue
w reg (2000)
standard except for stainless steal exhaust and dump valve , it was remapped by triton probably 14 years ago when my mate owned her .
106k mikes , mot end sept , mechanically the engine is sweet.
body work , lacquer is pealing on bonnet and parts of bumper and usual age related marks .
clutch needs doing , I could get done for £350 but thought I’d sell with it as a known requirement incase a mechanic wants it- only slips when turbo tries tearing up the tarmac lol( fine around town)
it’s been my 2nd car / work horse for last 5 years and loyally only around 6k miles in this time.
im thinking of it being a project car but as it’s so standard I’m told this is where it keeps some value?
So where should I list ? EBay? Market place ? Or a scooby site ? And what should I ask?
Totally out of my comfort zone? So thought I’d ask?
Thanks for reading

Prices are all over the place mate. Depends how quick you want to sell to.
Rot has gotten to a lot of these so pictures of problem areas would be useful as well as under chassis pics too. My advice would be get the engine bay cleaned it won't take long with a bit of degreaser and wash down

The last post was your best advice.
If the rear wheel arches are bubbled and rusted, sell it as it is on eBay etc.
If they arent, get the clutch done (and cambelt if no proof in last 5 years), and invest your time on cleaning The carpets , seats and engine bay.
I'd say £1500 for scenario 1 and £3-4000 for scenario 2, but someone else will come on here and say it's either half or double those numbers...

As said, check rear arches, if there solid use as selling point. If it's rough underneath, then just list as is, with clutch needed doing. List on eBay auction I would £1,500 starting price.
If your wanting better money. Then get as said get work done, and clean it up. But don't think you'd get much more than £3,500.
As is £2,000-£2,500 on auction I'd say.

With Tesco 99 E5 petrol at 189.9/litre at the mo its probably a buyers market. You've had some sound advice above.... Let us know how you get on👍
