Does anyone know what the CELL rating is on the ORM Cat on the midpipe for a 2006 Subaru WRX?
I got a sports CAT on the downpipe but car failed it’s MOT on high emission despite making sure it was red hot.
Seen a Universal CAT on eBay that’s 400 CELL was going to get this welded on the car just for the MOT then go back to the decat midpipe once it’s passed.
Just wondered has anyone used one for a uk MOT at all?
I've got a 100 cell cat on mine, and new mot guy said it failed, old mot guy told me take it for a good drive and when came back let it rev at 3000 RPM for few mins and passed. There not easy to pass, you really need 200cell plus. Guessing yours is 100cell aswell.
a 200 cell on a downpipe as the only cat in the system will pass but only just passes , as above if yours is a 100 cell then that’s probably why it’s not passing , assuming every thing else is ok
Definitely not Government run test stations over here and the results go straight into the office which prints out the certificate.
If properly mapped and everything as it should be as shown above with two different vehicles they fly through.
Have they hooked it up to an air conditioning unit

Maybe I'm lucky as well - mine has had a Cobra 200 cell sports cat only on for the last 5 years, as the original downpipe was crumbling. I'd already had the centre section replaced with a Hayward and Scott.
Its passed every year with no comment about emissions, from 3 different garages. Out of habit (I have zero evidence for this) I add a full bottle of cataclean to the tank the day before the test.
Wouldn't say your lucky, I think I struggle as mine is a 100 cell cat. Although I do like your car cleaner idea, I bought some to use before my next mot. So might just try the 100 cell cat with cat cleaner. Would save me money if worked.

It is but I would say they have hooked your ears up to an aircon unit for there's nothing in between your ears but hot air
You just seem to refuse the fact that a properly tuned car will pass emissions.

Are you really going to put me to the bother of taking photographs of three cars that are here. Two running Syvecs and one ESL.
Now listen again if properly tuned they pass with flying colours.
Just to add two different test stations and they are all government run so no messing about.
I just can't see how they would. Fully decatted? Is this northern Ireland?
