Can I Mix Tyres?
Hi all,
My 2007 STi needs front tyres.
The first two inches of the inner edges are severely worn, hoping it was just toe was out. A recent visit to a garage for rear hub works, they said that they had done the 4 wheel alignment. Track rod ends seem ok, and recent MOT didn't bring up any advisories ref front bushes / bearings / play etc.
The rear tyres are Bridgestone Potenza Sport and are wearing evenly / loads of tread on them.
Can I put new Michelin PS5 on the front and keep the Bridgestones on the back?
I know you should never mix tyres on the same axle, but running different front / back should be ok?

That should be fine mate. Personally with there being more bias on the rear I'd be inclined to put the new tyres there.

Can't see that being a major issue.
As for your uneven wear at the front, I have exactly the same but with me it is due to having altered the geometry of the front. Its a pain in the **** as you go through fronts a bit quicker, but it does make for sharper turn in. I have considered having it dialed back out a few times.
