Certainly doesn’t look good. Get the painter to take the spoiler off whilst your there and see what exactly is going on 👍

Did they spray the spoiler whilst still attached to boot lid or was it removed and items painted separately, i wonder if it's a reaction with the paint it they did paint them separately and then used some kind of sealer/mastic between spoiler/boot lid.

Can't tell from the pictures but could be a few things.
Blow out/paint break - paint covers an area and clogs up the hole in this where the spoiler bolts on. When you out the bolt through it breaks the paint.
They have left some of the masking tape on.
Both easily fixed due to location. But it looks like there isn't any of that foam tape stuff that goes on the spoiler. If it is missing don't forget to put it back on and leave space for water to run out.

Can I ask, what would happen if you didn't leave the wee channels for the water to run out ? Like just seal right round the edge of the spoiler so that no water gets below?
Mine is rusted underneath and i have it in mind to be painted but wonder whats the best way to do it so it doesn't rust again.

Boot is getting repainted next week just waiting on the basecoat to come lucky had enough clear let over from last time
I think the spolier has been put back on to early and the paint has stuck to it and where the movement of the spolier it started to pull the paint up

Good news.
Sure, things go wrong sometimes, then it's all about how they put it right.
Also, an extra layer of paint and lacquer on a the boot is never a bad thing...it gets hammered there by dirt and grime thrown onto it from the air vortex.

Thats what I was referring too as well, even after getting the rust removed etc water could get trapped with no where to go so just in case it isn't sealed its better to have a water channel for any trapped water to escape. It can't always go back out the way it came in.
