Default Boot not locking with central locking

2008 STI hatchback

All doors lock except the hatch/boot. Any ideas or experience of this?

probably the actuator , less likely but maybe a damaged wire , unplug the actuator , volt meter then push central locking button , you should get some voltage and when the actuator is plugged in you should get slight noise from the actuator 👍 the actuator may move but if they are failing it’s not strong enough to lock or unlock the boot

FYI - UK cars are fitted with double locking door locks (CAT1) whereas your JDM model will be just single lock versions so there may be some differences in operation.

When you say "Boot not locking with central locking" what do you actually mean??

When you close the hatch does it manually latch shut or not?? Does the cargo space light go off??

When you use the opening button on the outside of hatch does it open??
