Default EBC braking news thread..

Amazed to receive a full set of front and rear RP1 pads for free from @EBC Brakes UK yesterday.

Been looking at these pads for a while now and looking forward to testing them at croft in july.

will see how they compare to the carbotechs ive run for a few years.

They sent me a set of Blue Stuff NDX. The ones they sent me didn't fit my car at the time but I've since changed and have fitted them. I've been trying to bed them in but it seems to be taking a while on the road even though I'm following the bed in procedure. This could be because I changed the disks as well though. Initial bite on the road seems very good even when stone cold. It'll be interesting to see how they fair on track, I'm at Cadwell Park on Thursday so will put them through their paces.

have you tried ceramic coating the wheels? Might help the problem.

I had a set of Blue Stuff on my Hawk Wagon which was mapped to about 400bhp. They were great. I had tried various other pads over the 9 years I owned the car. Black Diamond, which suffered from brake fade when driven hard and Brembo Sport which were okay, but I felt the Blue Stuff was noticeably better. I had the standard 4 pot Subaru calipers and grooved discs. @EBC Brakes UK provided the Blue Stuff pads and I noticed the difference straight away. They had good stopping power when cold, the braking was progressive and I never experienced brake fade. I didn't get to the track, but if I had of, they would be my pad of choice.

Pads are very good, think best You can buy for road and track.
But dust sticks to an alloy ,last November took me 4h to clean one wheel face, over 2h another front wheel ( used clay bar and credit card )
Than today 1h on one barrel with 400 grit sanding paper and 180 on some places. Nothing other can touch those dust.
Last week i bought pagid rs14's from asperformance to try. Will repeat above after summer if needed and paint a barrels.
On picture left side half done.

No its oem colour -neochrome, discontinued in et44
Have one new as spare ,should buy 2.
Maybe next year I will paint barrel inside wheel, hopefully face/ front will stay like it is.
Issue with them cleaning to is 362mm brake discs ,no space left and summer hose ban period.
My pxe80 ready for some polish session on them rotas, than gyeon rim again.
