Got home last night to discover that the builders in my street had covered my Scoob in a thick layer of grey dust. The whole car is covered. As the car is black it looks terrible. Also being in Central London, I can't just get the hose out and wash the car. I'll have to go to a car wash and pay.

Surely you can't just cover someones car with dust without any comeback? As the builders start after I've left for work, and are gone when I get home, what the hell do I do?

Thumbs down

Unless you can prove it's their dust you're stuck with cleaning your car. If it is off the wheels of wagons they should have wheel cleaning facilities on site, or at least a road sweeper on each day to clear it.
If it rains this weekend and gets muddy, its a hazard - they'll have to clean it.
If you complain - don't let them know it's your car - as you said - you're not there during the day!!
I'd buy a bucket and sponge if I were you - car washes are crap anyway

Unhappy

Ok, Ok, so maybe I'm a moaning minnie. But if I was to throw a bucket of muck over your car, I imagine you wouldn't be that pleased...

Heh.

I wouldn't worry about it. I spend a good few hours washing my car, return back to it in an hour only to find it covered in dust.

Such is life in london

Maybe after you've been out and bought the bucket and sponge you should buy a car cover

This is all a bit academic now. The builders actually washed my car yesterday!

It's probably cleaner than before...
