Default Impreza wrx 2005

Hi can anyone help please?
i have a 2005 wrx,
the keys I have won’t lock or unlock the car by pressing the button! when I use the key in the lock it will activate all the door locks and I can enter the car but the alarm is going off and the car won’t start. I have replaced both keys with new batteries but no joy! I do not have a code for keypad in the car ??

Might be the microswitch/button in the key itself, you can replace them if you are handy with a solder iron. If not you may need a new key reprogramming

a chap on face book does the keys , it sounds like a uk car with the standard alarm system so a new key may solve the issue

You may have found an answer if you had posted in the Security forum
Apart from both keys having defective buttons, if the keys won't unlock/cancel alarm the car, then they may need "re-pairing" to the alarm (you have changed both key batteries) but as you don't have the PIN, or a working key fob you may need to consult a Sigma/Scorpion/Toad alarm installer. You could try Subaru for the original PIN but it's probably been changed in the last 15 years.

Cheers, I have today located another immobiliser with keys and a code( I think!) I also have the unit that fits around the key when it’s in the ignition and the box that connects to that.Going to try these tomorrow (fingers &#129310

Most of the parts you have listed above are the OEM (ECU) immobiliser. (transponder chip in key) Your problem is with the Sigma M30 alarm/immobiliser which is operated by the PCB in the key. The alarm operates the central locking.

If you have a replacement Sigma M30 alarm CPU with PIN you can change out the unit and re-pair your original keys to the new alarm as a first step.

I can't imagine many users who will have changed the PIN. If they haven't had issues with the alarm, most owners probably won't even have realised you can change it. My first port of call would be to speak to Subaru and request the code. It's the cheapest and simplest option. If it works, brilliant. If it doesn't then you can go down the next path.
