Default Severe paint correction

I'm getting around to dealing with these clear protective panels; I've stripped the vinyl off, and thought it would just be a matter of rubbing down the paint with AG tar remover, but it didn't touch it. Each black dot is a minute perforation of the vinyl, which has stained the paint underneath. This yellow paint is really susceptible to staining; even blue screenwash will mark it if left. What do folks suggest? White spirits? Petrol? IPA? I also have a DA polisher, clay etc. Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I've got panel wipe, but just couldn't type the right letters out last night, for some reason. I've also been meaning to get some Tardis for ages, as it gets such good reviews.
I'll wash it down today, use fall out remover, and try IPA. It's going to need some elbow grease, whatever

Got all mine off with loads of brake cleaner & new rag as it clogs easily & puts it back on.

Thanks Paul. The film is a nightmare, especially after tropical Japanese sun, and windy Cornish sun for 11 years. I might have some brake cleaner.
I doubt that I can get much delivered at the moment.

Be cautious with it as it does soften the paint, & you now how thin that is.

I think some lacquer came off already. The door handles have lost some too. There's alot of dust here in the summer, which coming from granite is quite abrasive, so it is quite swirly. I need a paint depth gauge!!

Just to point out for anyone using this post as a reference, Isopropyl alcohol should be diluted to 10% with distilled water for this job, and it shouldn't be used on fresh paint, or paint without lacquer.

The plastic razors arrived today

So I cracked on with a combination of Autoglym bug and tar, and citrus ski wax remover. These razors made all the difference

Other side tomorrow, took just over an hour.
Thanks for the advice

Thumbs up

Well done, looks like new!
The car seems to be be having a full restoration, it will be like new afterwards!
By the way, my 20th didn't have the clear protective films on the doors, not sure if they were removed though by a previous owner so I had to order them from Subaru.
