How to paint a fibreglass boat?
#1
I've just got hold of a rather tatty fibreglass fishing boat and the previous keeper had slapped a load of gloss paint on it. This is now peeling off as it hadn't keyed in to the gel coat underneath.
Question is, how do I get it looking reasonable without spending much money (it's only a boat afterall!!)
Cheers.

Painting fibreglass properly is agro, special primer, and spraying to avoid brushstrokes etc.
You will be better off in the long run getting it off, and cutting back the gel coat to smarten it up. T-cut works on most gel coats, but wouldn't touch the blue hull on our Hardy
Even if you do paint it again you are going to have to get the old paint off anyway....hope there's nothing nasty lurking under the paint.
