Default FUEL PUMP

hi all have a blob sti had for 7 years now is a garage queen does around 1000 miles a year max mainly just track days

Unfortunately with this covid19 I cant seem to get anyone to work on my car have new turbo and all sorts to be fitted for possible 500 build

My problem is the past 6 months when arriving at fuel station once I have filled up then car struggles to start I have to prime the pump 4 or 5 times then will start first time

If I dont do this the car will just turn over for 20 secs or so before firing

Now once warm and turned off its struggles to start

Been told fuel pump which I have a new rcm340 but just looking for anyone with similar issues

Thanks

fuel pressure regulator issue ? rather than the fuel pump ? i had a bug eye and it was a cam position sensor issue that was causing starting issues

I have all new parts to fit fpr injectors the lot but haven't got access to anyone who can map atm

Nor anyone that can fit my set up

Normally from cold fires up

But once warm struggles every now and again maybe 20 secs turn over then fires up

And when putting fuel in I have to prime the pump 4 turns of the key and will fire straight into life but if I dont so this will just turn over for 20 sec before firing up

Was told it was fuel pump issue but I'm unsure as no fault codes or nothing

There are loads of how to videos on replacing fuel pumps, and it's not a hard job for anyone with some basic tools and knowledge. Plenty of time too!

If your going for 500+ get a walbro 450lph pump 340 will be touch and go.
Check the wiring in the plug on the fuel pump hanger.

I was just looking to see if anyone had same sort of issues I will fit the pump and see but goes against my whole ethos with this car

Since I have owned this car she is a garage queen and only used for tracks or the odd show low on miles and owners always used the same garage and same guy for all my work full stamps every 6 months oil and filter and paid and invoices kept folder is massive

So I dont really want to have anything fitted without a receipt of work also I'm a panel beater buy trade can do basic mechanics on my daily transit van no issue but my impreza is my pride and joy

It was due this build start of month but unfortunately due to illness I'm at a lost end

So I have a garage full of parts the 500 build was the rcm pump idx1050cc parallel rails rcm fpr running meth injection on a mdx321t+

I have everything here

But now cars going to be sat idle for best part of this year

I want to drive it when I want without the current issue
