Default Launch control

Hello after some advice if possible. I purchased a jdm hawkeye and it's surposed to be mapped by Andy forrest. Iv emailed him and he said if he's mapped it will have launch control mapped into it. Iv now messaged him again to ask how to turn it on and iv had no response at all. Could anyone shed some light on how to turn it on thanks very much

I couldn't get Andy Forrest to reply to anything. His communication skills are crap.

LC usually won't need a switch, mine is set to 4k rpm.
Put it in gear, foot flat to the floor and it will hold revs+boost.

Hi there
I had maps from Andy F he uses the rear demister to swap maps. The re-map will have launch control and usually blip down for cornering quickly.
IGN on. Engine off. Accelerator to the floor and double tap the rear demister switch. You ll see your EML flash. I can't remember what way it goes, but I think if it flashes a few times the "bigger map" is on and should include blip down and L/C. The other way is the EML stays on for a bit and that's the "smaller map"
Hopefully Iv remembered the correct way round ; )

Joe,

some are mapped that RPM Shows either 1krpm or 2krpm as you toggle between them.

also depends if mapped with open sorce or EcuTek software. Also if feature was initiated in the Map

I got my 05 sti uk mapped by andy and it switches maps with full throttle and pressing the demister twice but to my knowledge there‘s no indications on mine other than you can feel the car pull harder on high boost (or see the boost on a boost gauge if available), the launch control works with the car stationary and in neutral or 1st gear and simply will limit the revs to a preset (think 5k on mine) when flooring the accelerator, so you can just release the clutch and away you go!
(Having said I don‘t think I‘ve ever dared to dump the clutch on dry tarmac like that, I‘m not usually in that much of a hurry )

You’ll need to come to a stop on flat ground so the car doesn’t roll, take it out of gear, put it into 1st, hold clutch down and throttle fully down

You should take up the slack in the drivetrain with the handbrake before dumping the clutch otherwise it can get nasty

Spoke to Joe yesterday, he found out it was mapped by Andy Carr, not Andy Forrest.

he emailed Andy and Previous owner opted not to have ALS and Lanch mapped in. Joe since posted his ECU off to him,
Andy is remapping for ALS and supplying both cable & switches.

Result.

Tony

Just doubled checked and mine was mapped by Andy Carr so you may end up with switches similar to mine
