Default Type 25?

Anyone know the T25 for sale in northern Ireland at the moment? Looks like a cracking car, anyone experienced living with one?

I rebuilt the engine in that 18 months go, owner was in Kettering Northants then, had quite a few years, was very clean car, I did a few miles running it in, has a closed deck conversion on the block, built to a good spec.
Was on 51k miles when rebuilt, had a new alarm system fitted, as it had starting issues, the main alarm was draining ign voltage, new one sorted it out.

Ring the dealer and ask what the service history is on it and what the name of the garage is doing the service work. Will give you a good idea as there are only a few here in N.Ireland you would trust.

LOL at advert, only 25 made, My Type 25 is No 34?? and certain mine wasn,t quite the last. there was a list somewhere but even thats not actual proof

There have been more type 25`s sold than built by Ian. Very hard to prove unless supplied with documentation to prove it,

Ian Litchfeild has most records of T25 he commisioned but best of luck as always very busy doing GTRs Porsch M4,s etc and building another new garage,

A guy came to a meet with a 2004 Colin McRea limited special edition STi in blue. a few badges on a UK300 wrx and £5-8K profit.

buyer beware.

Tony

The real question should be how many T25s have been rebuilt. It seems to be quite alot.

The trouble with most T25's is they used the std USDM 2.5 factory s/motor with the spec c 2.0 heads, hence ring land issues being widespread requiring a rebuild early in there life, this one being no exception other than it lasted a long time as its low mileage shows.

Paul is that not the later Mk2 (hawk) T25 you're referring to?

The earlier ones were "just" spec C 2.0's. Or am I wrong there?

No, as Alyn said, they were T20, the T25 Blobeye were based on the 2.0, but with a USDM 2.5 bottom end, certainly all the ones I have done are, which includes a couple I did for Iain Litchfield as rebuilds, including the one in this advert, its certainly a genuine car, but a very badly researched advert from the seller.

What about the asking price folks, is it reasonable? It’s within my 15k budget. Would it be a sensible buy, hold it’s value etc I’m seeing fairly standard blobs on e bay at the mo at ludicrous (IMO) asking prices 🤔

yes Circa 30k miles, thought heads were as per original donor Car ?

my T25 Blob has been rebuilt 3 times in 99,000 miles. Although last time was due to oil pump pressure relief stuck open and not piston ringland failure. Common Oil pressure failure from "G Force", the Oil pick up pipe bolt falls out, pipe Cracks or snaps off at bolt tab weld.

I was told, 2x T25's had Cosworth blocks, one short & one long motor. Owners choice, as not cheap. So i went LM Turbo route rather than modding mine to a T25.
I do recall druelling over a Blue T25 hawk there, it had every Litchfield optinal extra on it, even had Cosworth machined in block!! hard to see but was in the well under headers,

regards

Tony

I was at Litchfields and Powerstation a fair bit 2002 to 2010, as are friends & Trackdays. i also bought my T20 Hawk, Later fitting a LM400's the later billet one.
But stil remember having a blast in first JDM hatch sgt straight off the transporter, ripping off stickers to fit the Trade plates and the second GTR in the UK.

I'd want to drive it to check it all right - as in the gearbox, brakes, suspension etc. I wouldn't worry about the engine if Paul's rebuilt it. He's well known in the subaru community and has a very good reputation.

Can't help but read these T25 threads. Will have had mine 15 years on Friday
Rebuilt at just over 30,000 miles but gets very little use these days.
