Default Gear selector / bushes kit

Sometimes when I changed gear i.e. 1st to second, it slots in smoothly, other times, it feels clucky. I feel like overall, the gear selector could be better when going through the gears.

The clutch is fine and gearbox / oil ... I just feel the selector/bushes could do with changing ... has anyone had experience with this or can recommend the best kit.

I have a version 2, import, P reg ... the kit in the link above states version 3 1996 onwards ... so would like to know if anyone can advise on what I can do to improve the feel of the gear selector.

early cars have a different linkage arrangement and those parts don't fit, albeit yours is right on the change (and over 20years of potentially people messing anyhows) so you would be best to physically check which style you have

custom bush kits are available.......

Thanks, I'll ask the specialist when I'm at the garage to look it over.

Thanks Harry, mine is a P reg so comes up as 1996 - but it is a version 2 import STI WRX. So the kit above will be okay?

Good question - I'm confident enough to advise either way, unfortunately!

The 2nd "C" represents the model "revision" version. Below shows the build dates (Note that some of the revisions cover multiple years - so not always equivalent to our model year version)

So the OEM linkage will be the same as the early model equivalent in opposedforces for revisions A,B and C.

Okay, thanks for that, so my car falls into the same category as the earlier models, so this part should be correct.
