Two things...totally different engine...that’s a twin cam 2.5, (SOHC) not a quad cam as found on the turbo’d models therefore that’s a different belt kit.
Second, you don’t have to buy the kit...you can just buy the belt and then buy pulley and tensioner separately.
This is what you’d have to do at the main dealer anyway as far as I’m aware no genuine ‘cambelt kit’ ever existed.
Indeed back in the early 2000’s Gates did not sell a kit for Subaru either, just the belt. When changing mine I had to buy the pulleys and tensioner seperately, at the time I used ‘Blueprint’ branded pulleys which had same make bearings as the originals (NSK iirc).
Remember Gates make belts and nothing else, same as Dayco...their kits will contain tensioners bought in from other sources to put in the same box. As time goes by it’s possible their kits will buy in tensioners/pulleys from different sources between production batches (Just like Subaru or any other manufacturer does). Unfortunately you won’t know what you will have until you open the box...and same can happen with Genuine Subaru parts...a good example is their oil filters where Subaru sourced them from different manufacturers resulting in variations in the quality of the oil filters..some quite concerning as the one type had a leaky/ineffective bypass valve and contained smaller surface area filter media!
