Default 08 impreza immoboliser fault

hello ive got an issue with my 08 impreza, I put a new battery in it today and now the thing cranks but doesn't start I think it might have something to do with the immobiliser, do any of you lads know what the problem could be?

Did you have an intermittent starting problem before hand? I'd a similar problem on my 09 sti, new battery, remote fob batteries etc didn't fix it. Still intermittent Then one day it wouldnt start at all just cranked. Turned out to be crank sensor. Replaced it and solved the problem

can you hear fuel pump priming ? put the key in the ignition turn ignition on then push unlock on the fob the try and start it , cam and crank can both give starting issues , my crank one was changed only as it was slowing becoming more difficult to start rather than total failure in one go

Ive tried putting the key in the on position and pressing the unlock button but that isnt working and my fuel pump is definitely priming.

option 1 was it working ok before the new battery was put in , are we talking main battery or fob battery ? if it’s fob do you have another fob ? , if it was working ok before , have you missed an earth or other wire on the battery terminals when you put the battery in ,the alarm immobiliser may have an extra wire going to the battery so is it all connnected ok ?option 2 if fuel pump is priming then i would expect immobiliser not to be the issue as it’s the first place i would put an immobiliser on , is it factory alarm system or after market ? option 3 yes cam or crank sensor not working will make starting very difficult or not possible ,
