Hi all

I am with Admiral.
I have a MY99 car.
The cant quote for the car having a PPP fitted.. as its a modification.

They said, however, that if someone else who is with them has a turbo with PPP put on.. and i give them the policy number - they will look at it and maybe reconsider.

Anyone got that with them? I need to stay with them until August - to hopefully get another years NC...

cheers

Tell them that its a dealer option and that its a 20% increase in power and torque, they should be able to give you a figure after that, or tell them its the equivelant of an RB5

I am also an Admiral customer, I am currently waiting for my MY01 to arrive.

I have already spoken to Admiral about modifying the car when it arrives and was told that as long as the power increase does not go up over 25 % it will not be a problem. I cannot remember the exact figures but I think it went from £800 to £980 or something very close. I would call back and ask to speak to an expert on insuring modified cars.

When you have found out whether they will insure you, can you post the answer, so I know whether to start looking elsewhere for my insurance

Tony,
Tried that - they said that because the car is being modified.. that was the problem.

Nathan,
They said that to u? - that as long as the mod didnt go above 25% ?
I got it refered to the underwriters.. they said that it could not be quoted.. because it was modified.

Perhaps if you send me ur details (ill email you so that you have my email address) I can take that as a reference, but wont in any way let it affect u!

Everywhere else said that they could quote me. This is annoying.. coz I could go for the Group PPP, or get my dealer to do it, so I could have it for the summer.

Cheers

Get the job done, then change the ECU's back untill you change insurance.
I was with Admiral for years never made any claims but they would not cover me with just exhaust mods.

Unhappy

Tell them that its uprated intercooler piping, back box and prodrive ecu, also tell them its a subaru option!!! they should somewhere have on their database something for it, its also the equivalent of the RB5 WR, it has the same package on and is group 18 which your car will become when the PPP is fitted.
Oh and direct line only charge me another 115.50 for the privalige of having it fitted 11 months togo before renewal
