Default dashboard warning lights

strange thing occurred today, driving along minding my own business when I heard a double ping noise then the following lights illuminated on the dash board:
  • check engine warning light
  • vehicle dynamics control warning light
  • cruise control activation light - flashing
  • si drive light (s) - flashing
the car drove ok so I continued my way home. one item to note was that I tried to put the si drive back to the (i) position but every time I moved the **** I got the double ping again.
got home turned off the ignition, turned it back on the lights were still the same, started the car and it ran very very lumpy, revving up to about 1500rpm then dropping back to almost stalling. turned it off again.
plugged in my mobilscan adapter started it up again, took a few turns to fire, and again ran very lumpy. checked the mobilscan no error codes but 2 sensors out of normal range. these being the long and short term fuel trims. cleared and refreshed the sensor went back into range then out of range again after about 15 seconds.
turned the car off then restated this time with an error code of cylinder 3 misfire, cleared the code, the car was running better but still not perfect. so turned it off again. opened the bonnet everything looked ok but the engine seemed very hot, I`d only driven about 5 miles to get home.
any ideas?
