Default Audi a3 1.6d problem?!

Hi my miss has the above car .......drives fine but when she pulls up to stop/traffic lights and leaves engine running the car shakes likes its going to stall (revs dont move ) but just shakes ....... ive took it to 2 local garages and they cant find the problem no codes coming up etc
any ideas please cheers

What year probably DMF their evil horrible little engines the 1.6 tdi

Definitely worth looking at dpf and egr,as said above,nightmare engines

My mrs has same car and I was omg what's that and yes DMF and wasn't cheap :-(

Ok thanks for all replies sounds like dmf then !
People normally replace clutch as well don’t they when doing that ?

You can also go to a solid flywheel.

Solid flywheel conversion then get rid before it starts giving you numerous problems as said evil little things.

yea to make things worse shes used to do 200miles a week ...we moved so last 10 months shes being doing 70miles max a week ....time for a petrol me thinks but you know what there like!!

Generally very good 60 mpg. A mate of mines wife who's a carer short stop start runs has a toyota auris 1.2 I think never any bother. If they do give trouble A LOT cheaper to repair.
