Default List of factory forged engines in which models?

Hi guys,
I tried searching, but got too many hits it was impossible.

Does anyone know if there's a list somewhere of what cars came forged from the factory?

Thanks,
Rob

V7 STI, this thats about it. Aso, from what ive read theres a debate over the term forged when it comes to the pistons as theyre not manufactured the same way as an aftermarket piston.

Many thanks for that. I've seen a few comments here and there over the years from people claiming their car was "factory forged." So bugeye (ej207), and I'm guessing that's including things like the s202.

Your next comment is making me really sit up and take notice; can you expand on that?

Forged is just method of manufacture, so quality of the product will depend on materials and specification when made.

I believe classic sti's were proper forged as well, Post 2001/2 (bug), they went to a Hypereutectic, which are cast and heat treated.

New-age STi 01/02 cars had factory 'forged' pistons then JDM STi went Hyperpeutic whereas UK 2.0 STi stayed with the factory 'forged' spec.......

all later 2.5's are Hyperpeutic also

ive always believed that the jdm was the stronger "better" engine, turns out its actually the uk engine that will be the better option.

your wrong about the 2.5's though as im pretty sure they were made from plastic and chocolate

Good thread about the 207

also debunk the whole JDM super fuel,

Relative to usdm vs JDM not our motors

Also read that as far as uk cars go it was the non-widetrack newage cars which had the better of the factory pistons
